Dodgy photo of my relocated studio. Things coming together... |
2) I'm pretty much set with regards install and the execution of my performances, I still need to acquire rope but everything else is set. This frees me up to be available over the next two weeks prep the space and to help others hang their shows... If they need it.
3) I've got my portfolio drafted and will hopefully get chance to ask Andrew to cast an eye over it. I'm planning on submitting a list of works with links to various online documents. This list will be printed but will also be available on this blog so that all the links will work... not sure that makes sense but it's much more straight forward that I'm making it sound.
4) I've been doing some rethinking with regards the drawings that I'm putting in the show. I've decided not to hang the five drawings from face paintings. Instead I will just hand the 36 elements 10 drawings, either in two blocks of 3x6 as I initially planned or as one block of 3x12. written like this it may seem like a lot but they won't take up a massive amount of wall and half the humour, for me, is in the repetition. I decided to take the other drawings out because I want to strike the right balance between the drawings having a presence in the show and the presence, fleeting, of the performances. Also, I know that wall space is at a premium and I decided I can do with out as much... Hopefully there will be some white in the show...
5) I'm still not sure whether or how to submit the work, performances for passing trains. This is an idea that has been floating around for the second half of the semester but due to time and practicalities it hasn't taken any kind of form yet. It seems like a falsehood to make a poster when the work hasn't a shape yet... and may never have, who knows? I hope it does at some point... but I don't want to abandon it. My current plan is to note it in passing but give no detail... I'll run it passed Andrew if I get chance.
That's all for now.
