Untitled (open/closed), David Cochrane, 2011

This is a short video documentation of David Cochrane's animation, Untitled (open/closed), which was made whilst on residency at J. A. Sinclair Gallery. The animation was made by tracing individual films stills which were then photographed and animated on Final Cut. The drawings were done using a dip pen and traditional Japanese black ink. The film was projected above the picture rail in the hallway, facing the front door so that it would greet visitors to the Gallery.
